Bulldog is a newspaper term used for the Saturday edition of the Sunday paper. The Wikipedia states that this usage first appeared during New York City's newspaper wars in the 1890's.
The owners had a cat for many years, I have a young black lab. Well mannered dogs of all kinds are welcome at the Bulldog.
