Barista News: Comings & Goings

Camila  (not pictured) is back in town and stopped by for Juliya and Adele's goodbye party.   Juliya has been doing some great graphics for us as well as being one of our awesome baristas.  Alas, school is very busy for someone aiming for law school.  You can see Amanda next to Juliya, and Doug Campbell at the side, trying to sneak out of the frame.

Adele has already graduated is going overseas.  She is leaving for West Africa via the Peace Corps.  Both Nathanial and Gloria were in the Peace Corps, back in the day, and Gloria brought along pages from her photo album.

Diamond Jubilee

2012 is Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee year, and the first batch of celebratory articles have come in from Britain and France.  It is 60 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne on February 6, 1952.

Check back in June!  From June 2 -6, there will be a special four-day holiday weekend in the UK, packed with pomp and spectacle to celebrate Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in style.

The Economist does Facebook

The Economist has done many fun creative and sharp covers lately.

This week's cover is noteworthy, the Economist's version of Mark Zuckerberg's facebook page.

French Photo - Lady Gaga

This month's Photo (French) came in with another striking Lady Gaga cover.  Plus some luscious desert photos and challenging photos of the people who subsist by scavenging garbage dumps.  One of the great things about Photo (French) is its breadth of coverage.  It is always worth checking out, but it definitely isn't suitable for all viewers!

Next issue (expected mid February) will be the amateur issue.
